We are assisting our Headstart Partner Organization-Step by Step Daycare. We are working to assist them in finding great candidates.

Step by Step Daycare is currently hiring Infant/Toddler Teachers for its North Chicago, IL location.

The School Age Teacher will prepare and implement age-appropriate classroom lessons in core subjects, and work to develop life skills and a love of learning in all their students.

Major Responsibilities And Duties:

Instructional Management

Maintain, at all times, high quality child care standards based on developmentally appropriate practices.

Working Conditions:

Mental demands/Physical demands/Environmental factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Work with frequent interruptions. Occasional prolonged and irregular hours, frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling; prolonged use of computer and repetitive hand motions; occasional lifting up to 50 pounds

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree in Education with a concentration in Child Development or Early Childhood
• Thorough understanding of child care center operations
• Strong organizational, communication, public relations, computer and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow policy and procedures
• Knowledge and implementation of Illinois child care guidelines and state licensing
• Comprehensive knowledge and proven success implementing programs for children based on developmentally appropriate practices
• Accepts and respects differences in children, parents and coworkers
• Experience as a classroom teacher of young children

Job Type:

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
