Remote Special Education Teacher (K12) Michigan Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract School Year: 20252026 Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Special Education Teacher to provide virtual instruction and support to K12 students in Michigan. This fully remote position offers the flexibility to work from home while making a meaningful impact on students' academic and social success. Key Responsibilities IEP Development & Implementation: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, general education teachers, and other school staff. Virtual Instruction: Deliver direct instruction to students using virtual platforms, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and abilities. Progress Monitoring: Assess and document student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting instruction as needed. Collaboration: Work closely with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support student progress and address academic and behavioral goals. Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress and services provided. Behavioral Support: Support students' social-emotional development and behavior management through proactive strategies. Compliance: Ensure adherence to state and federal special education regulations. Qualifications Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field. Licensure: Valid Michigan teaching certification with Special Education endorsement. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in a virtual setting. Technical Skills: Proficiency with technology and comfortable using virtual learning platforms. Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to work independently. Workspace: Dedicated workspace with high-speed internet access. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching in a virtual or hybrid learning environment. Knowledge of assistive technology tools.
