Summary
Bright Beginnings Childcare is a ministry of Faith Christian church, offering quality childcare services to families in the surrounding communities. We are seeking a caring and motivated individual who is enthusiastic about Christ-centered education and committed to leading our Explorers preschool classroom at Bright Beginnings Childcare. The Explorers program inspires 3-5 year olds through a nature and faith-based curriculum, while providing nurturing and developmentally-appropriate care. The lead Explorers teacher serves as the primary caregiver, role model, and instructor, and works as a team with the classroom assistant. You’ll have the opportunity to discover alongside our little learners. You’ll grow trusted relationships with families as you provide high-quality care and learning through play-based activities. Bright Beginnings’s learning curriculum provides lesson plans and prepared materials to create experiences of joy-filled discovery for children in care.Training begins the week of August 18, 2025. Typical hours are 8:00 - 4:00 or 8:30 - 4:30 M-F, however scheduling is flexible. If ideal candidate has part-time employment requirements/preferences, the position has availability to covert to part-time hours while still covering instruction time (ex: 7:30 - 1:00 shift M-F).
Duties
Create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment for preschool age children.
Manage classroom behavior calmly and consistently while ensuring a safe learning space.
Promote positive and encouraging interactions with children of all ages, ensuring the health, welfare and safety of children at all times.
Follow a classroom schedule and incorporate individualized, small group, and large group learning experiences.
Utilize ECERS and Youngstar goals as a guide for high quality environments.
Implement Bright Beginnings’ lesson plans and learning materials provided.
Support the center’s philosophy in practices and curriculum
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
Integrate Christian values into daily routines and model a committed Christian faith.
Participate in ongoing professional development (including online college coursework if provided) to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service trainings when scheduled.
Record observations, developmental milestones, and activity logs for each child through ProCare.
Follow state licensing requirements for paperwork, medical procedures, supervision, and health standards.
Work 8 hour shifts Monday through Friday, within the center's operational hours (work schedule flexible).
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma / GED Equivalent
Must complete CPR/First Aid, Mandated Reporter Training, and Abusive Head Trauma prior to starting in classroom.
Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education: Introduction to the Childcare Profession / Skills and Strategies of Childcare Teacher
At least 240 hours experience in a group child care center, or other approved early childhood or education setting.
Physically, mentally, and emotionally able to provide responsible care for all children.
Negative TB Test
DCF Background check clearance
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years experience in the education sector or related-field
Level 7 or higher on the Wisconsin Registry OR either of the following:
6 credits in Early Childhood Education, or related field.
48 credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
Nice To Haves
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children
Proven experience working with children in a daycare or educational setting
Previous experience in children's ministry
Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and practices
Familiarity with classroom management techniques to maintain a productive learning environment
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff team
