Reports to: Child Care Director

Pay Grade: Starting at Grade C, $21.40 per hour

Hours/Schedule: 3.5 hours per day / 17.5 hours per week / 38 weeks

Anticipated Start Date: Beginning with the 2025-2026 school year

Job Summary: The preschool instructor is responsible for creating learning experiences which support all preschooler's academic and social emotional growth.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in ECE or related field preferred; preferred valid Michigan teaching certificate with ZA Endorsement
Knowledge and experience in lesson plans, Creative Curriculum, Ages and Stages Questionnaire(ASQ)
CPR and First Aid Certified

Essential Job Functions:

Work cooperatively and collaboratively with the teaching aide, building staff, and parents
Ensure that preschool classroom meets or exceeds all licensing and Program Quality Assessment criteria
Maintain all records in accordance with Child Licensing
Participate in 16 hours of on-going training yearly to meet childcare licensing regulations
Consistent and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work may be performed indoors and/or outdoors. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work output of students.

Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
