Summary
Tinton Falls Cooperative Preschool (TFCP) is excited to be opening a new 2 1/2 - 3-year-old classroom for our 2025-2026 school year.
Our new teacher needs to be an energetic, engaging, enthusiastic person who enjoys spending each day with young children. Our teacher will be creating a ready to learn classroom setting, offering an engaging environment, hands on activities, small group times, and an opportunity for each of our students to work through separation, manage transitions, and build social skills while learning in a positive space.
Our 2 1/2 - 3-year-old teaching position is Monday to Thursday from 8:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., with a possible opportunity to add Fridays in January 2026. Our teacher may also be asked to work in the afternoons until 3 p.m. from two to four days a week, which is something that will be discussed during the hiring process.
Our teacher will be working with an Assistant teacher and, on occasion, a co-oping family member to assure that our 8 to 10 students have a wonderful experience while at TFCP.
Our school year staff is asked to help with the start of camp in June and are eligible to work the entire camp which runs from mid-June to the end of July.
Duties
Our New Teacher will assure the safety and wellbeing of each child, adhering to all licensing requirements, school policies, and general common sense while working in the classroom each day.
Our New Teacher will assure the cleanliness and organization of the classroom to promote a positive learning experience for the students and the ability for all staff to work well together.
Our New Teacher will be responsible for building relationships with each child and creating the day-to-day curriculum based on our weekly and monthly themes, providing all activities, preparing art experiences and crafts, assuring that each child's physical, emotional, social, and academic needs are met.
Our New Teacher will be able to respectfully communicate with parents and other family members both in writing and verbally on a regular basis according to the needs of the children and the class as a whole.
Our New Teacher will attend all staff meetings, Back to School Nights, Evening Trainings, and all additional staff required activities throughout the year, starting at the end of August through the second week of June.
Requirements
Our New Teacher must have a BA in a related subject and have experience working in an ECE using DAP in a classroom for at least 2 years, or in an older grade for 4 years with experience working with young children. A teaching certificate or working toward a certificate is requested.
Our New Teacher will be CPR/First Aid Certified and able to respond to emergency medical situations and able to carry a child up to 45 pounds if needed.
Our New Teacher will be able to work with and supervise the Assistant Teacher and Co-oping family members as well as other staff members who are part of our school.
