Summary
As a Teacher Assistant you are responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher with daily activities, supervising, nurturing, and giving guidance to a group of children. The Teacher Assistant takes responsibility for the classroom and the children when the Lead Teacher is absent.
Duties
- Assist with maintaining the classroom in a healthy and organized manner according to Health Department, Fire Marshall, and Department of Children and Families guidelines.
- Assist with daily schedules, general classroom duties, and playground activities.
- Assist in implementing the classroom tasks and assignments with children.
- Assist with snack preparation, feeding children, toileting/diapering, nap time, general cleanup, and classroom organization.
- Respond to classroom emergencies appropriately, Greet parents and children daily, and provide excellent customer service.
- Actively participate in staff meetings, center functions, events, and training.
- Maintain a professional image in your dress and communication while interacting with those on campus.
- Observe document children's performance, behavior, social development and physical health.
- Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must pass DCF/OCPS and Rosen Preschool background checks.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Required annual continuing education and required criteria as dictated by the state and our center.
- CPR and First Aid within 1 year of employment.
- 45 hours of state-mandated early childhood training is completed or begin training within 12 months of employment and complete the early literacy training within 3 months of employment.
