Summary

The Preschool Room Teacher is responsible for all aspects of the care and education for the children enrolled in this class. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: physical caregiving, developmental assessments, creating Step-Up-To-Quality weekly lesson plans, class schedules and environmental excellence. This teacher will be able to facilitate supportive relationships with children, families, coworkers, the Administrator, and owners to effectively meet state standards and support our mission. This includes all Kindergarten Readiness planning, implementation, and assessments.

Duties

Responsibilities of this position will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:
  • Supervises the children and ensures care, learning, and safety of all children.
  • Follow all related State Licensing and Step Up To Quality requirements related to your role.
  • Maintain ongoing regular observation and documentation of children’s development and progress with biannual checkpoints through Teaching Strategies Gold.
  • Create and implement lesson plans utilizing Creative Curriculum.
  • Be willing to conduct home visits


Requirements

  • A current Child Development Associate in Preschool or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent experience
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility on the job and work efficiently with a team.
  • Demonstrative ability to establish positive relationships with preschool children and use sound judgment in critical and adverse situations.
  • Physical ability to interact with children, be on foot for long periods of time, be active and involved with children’s play and learning and lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Emotional stability to understand and manage behavior and help regulate children by demonstrating social emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrate ability to work with people, including parents, coworkers, and community partners.
  • Ability to navigate technology in computer skills, organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks with a minimum of supervision. Ability to perform online assessments and documentation accurately.
