About Messiah Lutheran School

Messiah is a small, Christian school in Fairview Park, immediately west of Cleveland, Ohio. Our history of academic excellence in Christian community began in 1954. We currently teach students in preschool through grade 8, and have one class per grade level. We maintain a strong relationship with our sponsoring congregation, Messiah Lutheran Church (a congregation of the ELCA).

This preKindergarten teaching position serves 4-5 year-olds on Tuesday - Thursday. We offer a core morning program, with an extension of care before and after school (supported by an aide and student care supervisor).

Qualifications Appropriate Ohio teaching license/certificate Understanding of Ohio's Early Learning & Development Standards and experience in applying those standards to instructional design for preschool students Sound grasp of child development and developmental psychology, and skill in applying those to facilitating developmentally appropriate social, physical, and personal growth experiences for students Commitment to personal spiritual growth and experience in nurturing the faith of children Exceptional communication and relationship building skills Effective training and successful experience in: instructional design and delivery; assessment; individualized/differentiated instruction; integration of technology in teaching and learning

Understanding of early childhood screening and assessment tools and experience in applying those tools to the progress monitoring of young students Sound personal organization Enthusiasm and a creative, innovative mindset
