About the Park School
The Park School is a Pre-K to Grade 8 independent school in Brookline, MA, dedicated to excellence in education. The kindergarten associate teacher is a member of the school’s lower division and reports to the lower division head. This full-time, 10-month position comes with the responsibility of working with faculty and staff to support the school’s mission and curricular goals.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in all aspects of the PreKindergarten program, including lesson planning, prepping, classroom management, and teaching
- Greet students and families in the morning
- Assist with class transitions to specials, between activities, and to after-school dismissal
- Collaborate during planning times with the lead classroom teacher, as well as the whole PreKindergarten team
- Assist with supervision of recess, lunch, and rest time
- Guide students in their social-emotional development, maintaining expectations and support for positive and productive student behavior
- Help create and provide a safe and caring environment for the students
- Participate in the school community, including faculty and committee work when appropriate, weekly school duties, and all-school events such as Grandparents & Special Friends Day, Yule festival, May Day etc.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Experience teaching Early Childhood
- Demonstrated experience working in a culturally diverse community
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in writing student comments, communications to parents, and other school-related documents
- Creative problem-solving skills and a positive attitude that allows one to cooperate and collaborate effectively with others
- Motivation for and interest in professional development
- High integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- The ability to effectively interpret, navigate, mediate, and resolve conflict in a timely manner.
- Proficient or the ability to learn Google tools and other applications as adopted by the school, such as Veracross, Atlas etc.
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to sit and stand uninterrupted for 30 minute periods of time.
- The ability to regularly walk on and travel across variable surfaces (e.g. level flooring, stairs, turf, gravel, asphalt, etc.).
- The ability to lead, supervise and accompany students to all areas of the school campus (including all indoor and outdoor areas), including during day-to-day responsibilities and in case of emergency.
- The ability to regularly stand, sit, crouch, and kneel down in order to support students.
- The ability to work outdoors, year-round, in variable weather conditions.
- The ability to lift and hold 15 lbs overhead.
- The ability to occasionally transport (e.g., move or drag) 25 lbs.
- The ability to maintain focus and composure in an energetic and, at times, loud environment.

- The compensation range for this role is based on a faculty scale ranging from $65,140 to $134,680 annually. Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees received, years of teaching experience, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive compensation details, inclusive of any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.
