Evelyn Street Day School is a privately owned daycare located in Paramus, Nj.

We are presently looking for a full pre-k 4 qualified teacher. Must have one year experience in the lead pre-k classroom. Must be available Monday through Friday. Only apply if you can fulfill Monday through Friday full day shift. No exceptions. No temporary applicants, please.


Job description

Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner
  • Plan weekly lesson plans in relation to GNJK nad the building curriculum
  • Prepare children for kindergarten regarding academics, social skills, independent skills, writing, reading and cutting skills
  • Keep children safe and clean throughout the day
  • Implement creative activities to assist with child development
  • Create a positive and nurturing environment for children
  • Perform a variety of tasks, such as cleaning and sanitizing the room and the equipment
  • Offer constant nteraction and engagment with children
  • Complete and submit required paperwork and forms in a timely manner
  • Follow staff handbook and state policies, regulations and guidelines
  • Administer first aid and medication when necessary
  • Address children co-workers, parents, and administration in a respectful manner
  • Be punctual, reliable, dependent, focused, professional and flexible
  • Implement diplomatic skills when addressing the parents and families of the children
  • Willingness to perform the responsibilities of the closer for the assigned room
  • Host Mother's Day and Father's Day breakfasts in the class
  • Generate a yearbook for the graduates in June and plan the graduation ceremony
  • Become familiar with Grow NJ Kids and Raz Reading program
Qualifications:


  • Previous experience of at least one year in the lead pre-k teacher positon or CDA or ECE degree
  • Enjoy working with children treating them with respect, patience and dignity
  • Be able to engage children in a meaningful, fun, nurturing way
  • Ability to build rapport with children and their parents, co-workers and administration
  • Positive and patient demeanor
  • Possess techniques for classroom management and bully prevention
  • Speak, read and write English, fluently
  • Be willing to learn more about child development through professisonal workshops as required by the state
  • Clear a fingerprint and background check
Job Type: full time

Salary: TBD depending on experience, certification and/or degree
