This is a Pre-K Counts Teacher position. The person selected for this position must have, at minimum, a Level I teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education. Must be able to meet the requirements of DHS, PDE and Keystone STARS. This person must be able to relate well to both children and adults.

*Tasks:* * Planning the learning environment , setting up interest areas, and preparing lesson plans and the needed materials and supplies in accordance with the philosophy and policies of the Council and based on The Creative Curriculum and research based practices. * Provide a developmentally appropriate educational program based on individual interests, culture, abilities. * Positively interacting with children all through the day including during family style meals * Actively engaging with children while on the playground * Maintaining attendance records, daily written communication with families regarding meals, activities; anecdotal and portfolio based recording of individual growth and development, assessing the developmental progress of the children * Conducting parent conferences focused on children’s academic progress and behavioral needs * Treating children with dignity and respect * Providing an aesthetically pleasing and clean learning environment/ assisting in the maintenance of the school * Working with all Center staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
