Summary
We are searching for a nurturing staff member to join our caregiving team. The hours for this position are 1-5pm Monday-Friday. ECE college students are encouraged to apply.
Teachers in our birth to 5 program are required to prepare and deliver classroom activities, communicate with staff and parents, serve as role models for children, maintain confidentiality, and ensure that the learning environment remains safe at all times. Successful teachers at the Early Learning Center should be creative, energetic, and able to encourage self-expression. Top candidates will possess a thorough understanding of early childhood development and have experience working with young children.
Duties
Planning and delivering lessons designed to facilitate students' social, emotional, and cognitive development.
Encouraging self-expression through understanding, flexibility, and behavioral guidance and support.
Tending to students' basic needs by feeding, dressing, and diapering.
Mediating conflict between students, modeling appropriate social interactions.
Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning at all times.
Working in partnership with families to ensure that they feel a part of our school community.
Observation and assessments of children in assigned group.
Attending staff meetings and completing trainings as required.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. CDA, Associates or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred.
CT Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification.
Able to pass a background check.
Prior experience working with young children, preferably within a similar setting.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Warm, approachable disposition.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.
