Part-Time After School Teacher

Congressional School is seeking part-time After School Teachers to join our Extended Hours Program (EHP) for the 2025-2026 school year . The EHP program providex a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for students in Preschool through 8th Grade during after-school hours. Our staff play a key role in creating a warm, inclusive community where each child is known, supported, and celebrated.
This is a part-time position , working Monday-Friday from 3:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. , and reports to the Auxiliary Programs Manager .
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide a fun, nurturing, and safe aftercare experience for all students
Plan and lead age-appropriate indoor and outdoor activities
Actively supervise and engage with students during play and structured activities
Prepare and serve snacks, assist children as needed during snack time
Fulfill assigned duties such as supervising study hall, playground, or crosswalk
Communicate promptly about any hazards, maintenance needs, or concerns
Adhere to all state and school licensing requirements and safety regulations
Address and support individual student needs, including medical or behavioral concerns
Maintain confidentiality with regard to children and families
Support the School's mission, vision, and core values through daily interactions and responsibilities
Complete a minimum of 16 hours of Early Childhood Education training annually
Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED equivalent
At least six months of experience working with children
Ability to lift or carry children weighing up to 25 pounds
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Positive attitude, flexibility, and the ability to work well as part of a team
