Position Description: Teachers are critical to achieving a culture of achievement at Bridge Prep. We are seeking innovative, talented, and dedicated educators to bring their skills, experience, and energy to our collaborative, student-centered learning environment, and want our teachers to be committed, dynamic, and innovative pedagogues.
Essential Functions:
- Create a collaborative and supportive learning environment where all students can learn.
- Plan and facilitate engaging lessons in alignment with NY State Standards and Bridge Prep curriculum.
- Provide small group and individual instruction to ELL students.
- Routinely analyze data with the purpose of increasing student achievement.
- Build students' academic and social emotional skills through modeling and explicit instruction.
- Engage in Professional Learning opportunities to improve knowledge and skills with the purpose of increasing student achievement.
- Advocate to ensure students receive appropriate support and services.
- Plan and administer NYSITELL and NYSESLAT exams.
Reporting: This is a part time position reporting to the Assistant Principal of Specialized Instruction or their designee(s).
Specific Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree required, Master's Degree preferred
- A current New York State (or other state) ESL teaching certification.
- A minimum 3 years experience in classroom instruction, specifically English language learners
- Experience with the NYSESLAT and/or NYSITELL exams
- Experience with remediation strategies for students of varying ability levels
- Experience in data evaluation and applied decision making

Salary: Compensation is commensurate with experience, ranging from $35,000-40,000 annually.
