We are an outdoor, nature-based early childhood education program that blends high-quality early learning with the wonder of the natural world. Our program is dedicated to nurturing the whole child, with a strong focus on inclusive practices for neurodiverse learners.
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and highly qualified Preschool Teacher to join our licensed outdoor early childhood program. The ideal candidate will bring a love for working with young children, deep knowledge of early childhood development, and a passion for outdoor learning. This role requires skill in supporting neurodiverse students, including those with ADHD and autism, and the ability to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment in all seasons.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and implement developmentally appropriate, nature-based curriculum for children ages 3-5. * Foster an inclusive and supportive environment for neurodiverse students, including those with ADHD and autism. * Build strong relationships with children and families to support learning and development. * Supervise and guide children in outdoor play and exploration while maintaining safety protocols. * Adapt lessons and activities to meet the needs, interests, and abilities of each child. * Collaborate with teaching team members to plan, reflect, and grow in best practices. * Document and share children's progress with families through observations, portfolios, and conferences. * Care for outdoor learning spaces, ensuring they are safe, engaging, and reflective of seasonal changes.
Required Qualifications
* Current Colorado Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) Qualification. * Minimum of two years of experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed program. * Demonstrated experience supporting neurodiverse children, including those with ADHD and autism. * Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain). * Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. * Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. * Commitment to outdoor, play-based learning models.
Preferred Qualifications
* Background in outdoor-based, environmental, or nature-based education. * Familiarity with trauma-informed care and sensory-informed approaches. * Additional certifications related to special education or neurodiversity (optional but valued).
