Swampscott Elementary School is looking for a Full-Time Elementary Music Teacher.
The new hire will teach grades K-4 at the new Swampscott Elementary School

General Music:
Teach students the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills based on the Massachusetts Fine Arts Standards, including singing, playing instruments, composing, improvising, and making cross-curricular connections.
Teach students how to sing and play easily accessible instruments such as electric keyboards, drums, recorders, handbells, ukuleles, and xylophones.
Use up-to-date software and websites to teach music.
Teach band to grade 4 students, including preparing and directing twice-annual concerts.
Piano experience is a plus.
Teach instrumental/vocal music lessons (including but not limited to trumpet, clarinet, flute, trombone, and percussion) during the school day (Grades 4-6).
Lead and manage an after-school instrument band/choral program.
Collaborate with school leadership and families to foster participation and enthusiasm for instrumental/choral music.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to provide an orderly, productive environment during practice, group rehearsals, and music performances.
Student performances for community events (per Supt./Principal)
Qualifications: Valid MA DESE licensure in Music: Vocal/Instrumental/General (PreK-12) required.
Bachelor's required (Master's Preferred)
SEI Teacher Endorsement
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Enthusiasm for teaching and inspiring young musicians of all skill levels.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Superintendent
