Their upper elementary program (Grades 4-6) is rooted in the Montessori philosophy, fostering curiosity, independence, and social-emotional growth.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate, adaptable, and dedicated Educator to lead a mixed-age upper elementary classroom (Grades 4-6). The ideal candidate brings either Montessori classroom experience or the confidence, flexibility, and eagerness to embrace Montessori methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead an upper elementary classroom, fostering academic and personal growth.
- Prepare and maintain a well-organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues and families to support each child's unique journey.
- Use observation and assessment to inform individualized instruction and classroom practices.
- Create opportunities for student-led inquiry, critical thinking, and independence.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and ongoing reflection to grow in your Montessori practice.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required (Education or related field).
- Montessori certification for upper elementary (9-12) required - or willingness to enroll in and complete certification/diploma program upon hire.
- Previous experience working with children in Grades 4-6 preferred.
- Strong communication, classroom management, and collaboration skills.
- A growth mindset and a genuine love of learning.
