Are you an educator who thrives in a structured yet dynamic setting, working closely with students who learn in unique and powerful ways? Our centerbased Setting III autism program is looking for a Special Education Teacher to guide a small group of students in grades K8 (varies by site) who benefit from intensive academic, social, and behavioral support. You'll lead a supportive team of paraprofessionals, collaborate across disciplines, and create a space where each student is understood, challenged, and celebrated. This is more than a teaching jobit's a leadership role within a specialized classroom that prioritizes connection, consistency, and individualized success. What Youll Be Doing: Design and deliver daily instruction that aligns with IEP goals, using evidence-based practices tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Lead a team of paraprofessionals to ensure each students needs are met consistently and respectfully throughout the day. Maintain strong family partnerships through regular communication, updates, and involvement in the IEP process. Collaborate with administrators, specialists, and other educators to build programming that supports each learner holistically. Manage case files and documentation in compliance with special education Due Process standards. Facilitate IEP meetings and evaluations as the case manager for your classroom. Support a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate grounded in structure and predictability. Who You Are: A licensed Special Education Teacher in Minnesota (ASD license preferred; ABS license accepted). A proactive leader who thrives in team settings and values consistent routines and clear expectations. Passionate about helping students with autism build communication, independence, and social-emotional skills. Skilled in writing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and using data to inform instruction. Able to lift up to 50 pounds or assist with student mobility using safe team-lift practices. Familiar with behavioral assessment tools and supportive strategies such as visual schedules, reinforcement systems, and sensory supports. Schedule & Environment: Full-time, Monday through Friday Standard school hours Follows the districts 20252026 academic calendar Based in a Setting III classroom designed to serve students with significant needs related to ASD Location will be assigned within the district based on program placement
