Position: Mild/Moderate Special Day Class Teacher Location: Coalinga, CA 93210 Position Type : Full-time Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Mild/Moderate Special Day Class Teacher to join our partner school's educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities in a specialized classroom setting. This role requires a compassionate educator who can create an inclusive and engaging learning environment tailored to the unique needs of each student. Qualifications: California Special Education Credential - Mild/Moderate with English Learner (EL) Authorization Autism Authorization CBEST (California Basic Education Skills Test) Must demonstrate subject matter competency in Multiple Subjects Requirements: Ed.Specialist Instruction Credential (Mild/Moderate Disabilities); EL Authorization Resume Three (3) Letters of Recommendation dated within 18 months of application Transcripts (Post BA) Responsibilities: Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the specific needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities. Create and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and accommodate diverse learning styles. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth. Collaborate with other educators, specialists, and support staff to ensure comprehensive support for students. Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents regarding academic and behavioral development. Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning environment. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay informed about best practices in special education. Skills and Abilities: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and staff. Ability to create a supportive and nurturing classroom atmosphere that promotes student engagement. Knowledge of instructional strategies for students with special needs, including differentiated instruction techniques. Proficiency in using technology to enhance learning experiences.
