Requirements / Qualifications

Basic Functions: Organizes and instructs students in reading and/or language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, health, physical education, art, music and other assigned areas of the curriculum, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Trustees. Promotes close working relationships with staff, students and parents. Teacher is under the direct supervision of the site principal or designee. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Education Required: • Bachelor’s Degree • Valid California Science Teaching Credential or Authorization in Science • EL Authorization or equivalent Experience: • One year of successful teaching experience in an education setting is preferred. • 5 years previous public school teaching experience accepted per Ocean View Teachers Association (OVTA) contract
