Middle School Nurse Teacher

Hours: 1.0 FTE, Exempt
Overview
The School Nurse Teacher provides nursing services, health education and school-wide health care support.
Responsibilities/duties include, but are not limited to:
- Staff the nurse's office and respond to emergent medical needs in the building
- Maintain school health records for all students
- Promote and assist in the control of communicable diseases
- Screen and evaluate findings of deficiency in vision, hearing, scoliosis, growth, blood pressure, etc.
- Observe students for development and health patterns
- Plan and implement school health management plans
- Administer medication as needed
- Develop crisis intervention procedures for acute illness, injury, and emotional disturbances
- Know, follow, and implement all national, state, and school regulations
- Honor confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, required
- Valid Rhode Island Department of Education Certification required
- All Grades School Nurse Teacher, PK-12
- National background check (after offer)
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
