Position Overview: The Middle School Math Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering rigorous, standards-aligned mathematics instruction that develops students' conceptual understanding, problem-solving skills, and mathematical fluency. The teacher will assess student progress against Wisconsin Academic Standards and collaborate with colleagues, school leaders, and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all scholars build strong math foundations for academic success and future readiness.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and implement engaging, standards-aligned math lessons consistent with Wisconsin Academic Standards for middle school Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including those requiring intervention or enrichment Foster a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom environment that encourages critical thinking and perseverance Integrate real-world applications and technology to enhance math learning and student engagement Collaborate regularly with instructional teams and participate in ongoing professional development Maintain frequent communication with families regarding academic progress and behavior Support school-wide math goals and contribute to a college- and career-ready culture
Requirements
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (required) Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license or eligibility to obtain licensure in middle school mathematics (required) Strong knowledge of middle school math content and effective instructional strategies Experience working in urban education or high-needs schools (preferred) Commitment to educational equity and culturally relevant pedagogy Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
