Position Overview: St. Joseph Catholic School, Vancouver, is seeking a part-time Middle School Math Support Teacher to provide focused, small-group instruction for students in grades 6–8. The ideal candidate will support students in building foundational math skills, deepening their understanding of grade-level content, and gaining confidence in their mathematical abilities. This role is an important part of our commitment to academic excellence and student growth within a Catholic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide small group instruction in math, aligned with grade-level standards for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.

Collaborate with classroom teacher to identify students in need of support and develop appropriate instructional plans.

Address key math concepts including ratios, expressions and equations, geometry, integers, pre-algebra, and algebra readiness.

Use assessment data and teacher feedback to inform instruction and monitor student progress.

Maintain regular communication with teachers and school leadership about student performance.

Foster a supportive and respectful learning environment consistent with the mission and values of Catholic education.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in education, mathematics, or a related field required.

Teaching certificate (Washington State or reciprocal) preferred.

Experience working with middle school students and differentiated instruction strategies.

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Willingness to support the Catholic mission of the school.

Schedule & Compensation:

Part-time: 15–20 hours per week

Hourly compensation, $20-22/hour. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. This position is not benefits eligible.
