Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field

Experience

• Preferred: One or more years of teaching

• Currently enrolled or completed student teaching or Student Teacher in Service Learning Contract

Licenses & Certifications

• Required: IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (must possess or be able to obtain by hire)

• Preferred: PRO Elementary Certification

• Plan and deliver instruction that meets individual student needs

• Use effective techniques and materials aligned with curriculum goals

• Develop weekly written lesson plans

• Monitor and assess student progress regularly

• Identify and address specific student needs; seek specialist support when needed

• Communicate clear objectives and expectations

• Create a learning environment suited to student maturity and interests

• Support and enforce school rules and behavior policies

• Develop fair classroom rules and procedures

• Promote personal growth in areas like decision-making, self-image, and life skills

• Follow school district policies and philosophy

• Maintain professional, ethical communication with students, families, and staff

• Supervise students on campus and during school-sponsored activities

• Maintain accurate and complete records

• Take precautions to ensure safety of students and resources

• Participate in committees, student activities, supervision, or professional planning

• Primarily classroom-based

• Frequent computer use and multitasking in a high-volume setting

• Constant interruptions and changing priorities

• Requires sitting (50%), walking (25%), and standing (25%)
