Bishop Mora Salesian High School, an all-boys college preparatory school in Boyle Heights, seeks a motivated and experienced math and/or science teacher for the 2025-26 school year. Teachers at Salesian must: Exhibit professional standards of attendance, punctuality, grooming, language, preparation and relationship to students as both an adult example and member of a faith community.

Relate his/her specific objectives and overall knowledge to the goals of the entire school program;

Relate to the students in a professional adult Christian manner and contributes to the student’s sense of self worth as a Christian person;

Implement diverse methods of instruction and facilitates learning experiences in which students discover, analyze and apply knowledge to real life situations;

Provide ongoing evaluation of students and the learning process in accordance with each student’s needs, interest and learning styles;

Demonstrate good classroom management and record-keeping techniques;

Enforce school regulations consistently in the classroom, halls and school grounds;

Participate in ongoing professional growth by engaging in advanced studies, attending workshops and in-service programs, reading current professional journals and adapting to improved teaching ideas, methods and materials;

Maintain a classroom that is a safe and neat environment appropriate for student learning;

Create a classroom that ensures emotional, spiritual, and physical safety of all students;

Be available to students for tutoring students and works, at minimum, the prescribed work hours as specified in the employment agreement;

Perform other duties as assigned by the Administration and Principal. Requirements

Requirements / Education and Qualifications: A degree in math, science, or a related field, Bachelor minimum, Masters preferred.

Wage Range

The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
