Position Overview
Eastpointe High School is seeking a passionate and mission-driven Math Teacher to join our team in supporting a diverse student population, including at-risk youth, students navigating alternative educational pathways, and those re-engaging through our Dropout Recovery Program. This full-time position is ideal for an educator who believes in the power of personalized, flexible, and student-centered learning to change lives.
The Math Teacher will serve students in both in-person and virtual learning environments. Mornings will be dedicated to on-campus instruction, while afternoons will focus on mentoring and supporting students in our Dropout Recovery Program. Instruction will be delivered primarily through Edgenuity in a lab-based format as well as hybrid direct instruction in classroom, with opportunities for direct teaching, remediation, and individual coaching.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver math instruction using Edgenuity and other tools aligned with Arizona State Standards.
Build consistent and supportive relationships with students to increase motivation, belonging, and achievement.
Teach in a variety of formats, including classroom, lab, blended, and virtual environments.
Provide differentiated instruction to meet students’ varied academic levels and needs.
Guide a caseload of Dropout Recovery Program students with regular mentoring, goal-setting, and progress monitoring.
Offer small group and one-on-one remediation for struggling students.
Use data from Edgenuity and other assessments to track academic progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Collaborate with colleagues, academic advisors, and administrators to develop and support individual learning plans.
Maintain accurate records of communication, attendance, and student performance.
Foster a safe, respectful, and controlled classroom culture.
Participate in staff meetings, ongoing professional development, and Eastpointe’s professional learning community.
Contribute to Summer School programming during the month of June.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field.
Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate (Math endorsement preferred) or eligibility for certification.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably with alternative education or at-risk students.
Familiarity with Edgenuity or similar online learning platforms is a plus.
Ability to connect with students who have struggled in traditional learning environments.
Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, restorative approaches, and classroom behavior management is beneficial.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Commitment to student growth, and continuous improvement.
