1.0 FTE, Non-Continuing Contract (leave replacement)
Effective: 10/13/2025 - 6/12/2026 ONLY
DESCRIPTION: Instruction of middle school mathematics grades 6-8. Plan, implement and evaluate classroom instruction based on needs of the students. Skill in working with diverse populations. Plan and provide for appropriate learning experiences for students using Common Core standards-based materials, teaching strategies, and instructional designs. Participate in daily team planning. Team with Special Education to provide instruction in an inclusion model. Ability to differentiate curriculum to meet the needs of students for intervention and accelerated students. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive, and safe environment for learning. Monitor and evaluate student outcomes and report to families using standards-based reporting. Communicate and interact with students, parents, staff and community. Use instructional technology in the delivery of curriculum. Monitor appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities. Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: Meet Washington state certification and endorsement requirements. Experience teaching math to middle school students is preferred. Experience in and/or willingness to participate/support student activities/athletics/clubs desired. Exemplary organizational and planning skills. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Ability to work as a team player and understand the needs of middle school aged students. Attendance and punctuality are required functions of this position. Requires prolonged sitting or standing.
