Maranatha Christian Academy (MCA) is a private school serving Grades Pre-kindergarten through 12 in Brooklyn Park, MN.Our vision is for every Maranatha student to be highly educated, Christ-centered, and biblically anchored world changers.MCA currently has an opening for a lower school Pre-K classroom assistant, M-F from 11:00 am-5:00 pm, for the 2025-2026 school year.

Summary

Assists the classroom teacher in core subject groups, leads and organizes activities, and provides supervision of children in classrooms and after-school by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Assists teachers in small groups of math, reading, or writing groups by reteaching and reinforcing concepts

• Keeps record and collaborates with teacher on student progress when appropriate

• Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches them simple painting, drawing, handwork, songs, and similar activities.

• Helps children develop habits of organization, good study habits, and appropriate social skills

• Maintains discipline and provide conflict resolution through motivation and encouragement

• Assists classroom teacher, as directed including set up and maintenance of various aspects of the classroom (bulletin boards, projects, making copies, grading, etc.)

• Substitutes for classroom teacher(s) as directed by administration

• Direct supervision of students

• Provide after school supervision in the X-tended Day program

Education and/or Experience

Associates degree or higher, preferably in an education-related field.
