Lower School General Studies Teacher

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K–12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a Lower School General Studies Teacher to begin August 2025

Position Overview:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated General Studies professional who will engage and inspire students, foster strong communication with parents and colleagues, and contribute to our mission of developing students to become responsible, honest, compassionate, and respectful citizens.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies and Science aligned with curriculum standards.

• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and learning.

• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of all students.

• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, students, and school leadership.

• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.

• Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area colleagues to ensure consistency and alignment.

• Participate in school meetings, duties, and professional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s preferred).

• Prior experience teaching elementary or upper elementary grades preferred.

• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

• Commitment to fostering a nurturing and academically challenging classroom environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Pay Rate: $60,000 - $80,000

• Benefits: Generous paid time off, including personal days, and holidays. Health benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability, and FSAs. Others include a retirement saving plan (403b) and wellness benefits.
