Long-Term Substitute Teacher

St. Peter Claver Catholic School is a Christ-centered microschool with blended classrooms, dedicated to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and social development. Our small class sizes and personalized approach foster a close-knit, faith-filled learning community.

We are seeking a Long-Term Substitute Teacher to lead our Grades 1 & 2 blended classroom beginning early October 2025 while the current teacher is on leave. The substitute will deliver engaging instruction, maintain classroom routines, and support student growth using lesson plans and curriculum provided by the school.

Some days will include classroom aide support; other days you will lead the class independently. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, organized, and able to manage a multi-grade environment with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily instruction following provided lesson plans and curriculum
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of both grade levels
• Manage a positive and structured classroom environment
• Collaborate with staff to maintain consistency in student learning and routines
• Communicate with administration regarding student progress and needs
• Incorporate Catholic values into daily interactions and instruction
• Supervise students during transitions, recess, and lunch

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred
• Florida Teaching Certificate (or eligibility) preferred; classroom teaching experience required
• Ability to manage and teach multiple grade levels in one classroom
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Commitment to supporting the mission of Catholic education (practicing Catholic preferred but not required)
• Ability to work collaboratively with other staff and adapt to a small-school environment

Compensation: Competitive daily or monthly rate based on qualifications and experience.
