Oak Hill Children's Center is a high-quality program (5 STARS in Vermont's Step Ahead Recognition System) located at 72 School House Road, Pownal, Vermont. Oak Hill serves children from the ages of 6 weeks to 12 years. Oak Hill is an Early Head Start Partner, Specialized Child Care Provider and founding member of the Bennington County Farm to Early Childhood Collaborative. Curriculum combines the Vermont Early Learning Standards, The Creative Curriculum and emerging child interests.
Applicants should have experience working with young children. Candidates should be empathetic, compassionate and show respect for all. Applicants need to work collaboratively with their fellow teachers and communicate effectively with families. Experience with special needs and those suffering from early trauma preferred. Candidates should be flexible, understand the importance of play and embrace the concept that childhood is a messy business. A love of young children is a must. Bachelor's degree in early childhood required. Must be a licensed teacher with Early Childhood endorsement for the State of Vermont or reciprocal state. This could be a full-time or part-time position.

Duties
Provide high-quality early childhood education to preschool children
Work as part of a team to create and implement developmentally appropriate programming
Fulfill Pre-K Partnership requirements
Conduct child assessments
Maintain confidentiality, adhere to code of ethics
Adhere to State licensing regulations
Develop positive, reciprocal, culturally responsive relationships with children, families, co-workers and community partners
Provide a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
Requirements
Must be able to pass a background check
Must complete required trainings
Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or related field
Teaching license with Early Childhood Endorsement for the State of Vermont or reciprocal state
Commitment to providing high-quality early childhood education
Must be reliable and positive
Nice To Haves
Familiarity with TS GOLD preferred
Professional experience with young children preferred
