Summary

We are demanding, rewarding and our goal is to reduce poverty’s effect on communities though academic, economic, cognitive and social support programs. Our academic efforts will focus on early childhood education of children aged 2-years-old until kindergarten age. This position will serve as lead teacher, responsible for providing research-based instruction that provides best opportunity for academic, cognitive, and social development of 2-4 year old children. The lead teacher develops and facilitates learning centers and small group and whole group intervention strategies, as well as integrating play into learning. This position will be required to participate in weekly data and program review, weekly planning sessions, and professional development with training on academic instruction, child development, social-emotional awareness and coping.

Duties

Responsibilities:
- Create and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for children in the classroom
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Monitor and assess children's developmental progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and enriching educational experience
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive social interactions among children
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and observations
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and best practices in early childhood education

Requirements

- Strong knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices
- Experience working with children of various ages, including toddlers and preschoolers
- Understanding of child development milestones and ability to tailor instruction accordingly
- Ability to effectively manage classroom dynamics and promote positive behavior
- Knowledge of learning technologies and their integration into the classroom setting
- Familiarity with behavioral health strategies for supporting children with special needs or challenging behaviors
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with children, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Higher Education degree in Education, Childhood Development, or related field
