Summary

Black River Area Child Care Center is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Childcare Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children. The Lead Teacher will plan and implement lesson plans, oversee classroom management, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in their care. This role also involves mentoring assistant teachers and fostering strong relationships with families. Pay based on experience.

Duties

Classroom Curriculum Management: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. Use a variety of teaching methods, including play-based learning, structured activities, and individualized instruction. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment. Observe and assess children’s progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. Child Supervision Care: Ensure a safe and supportive atmosphere where children can learn and grow. Supervise children at all times and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Assist with feeding, diapering, and other basic care needs as required. Family Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and updates. Encourage family involvement in classroom activities and special events. Team Leadership Professional Development: Provide guidance and mentorship to assistant teachers. Model best practices in early childhood education and classroom management. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Must be 18 years of age. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and children. Additional requirements to be discussed prior to first day working with children.
