Job Overview Are you an experienced Lead Teacher looking to make an impact in early childhood education? Join our dynamic team at Water Lily Learning Center OTR. We are seeking a dedicated and credentialed Lead Preschool Teacher to lead a classroom of eager young learners. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, a passion for child development, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of care and compliance. Youll design and implement intentional curriculum, foster strong relationships with families, and help mentor classroom staff while maintaining full compliance with DCY and Step Up to Quality standards. Key Responsibilities Curriculum Development: Implement the Creative Curriculum, aligned with Ohios 2024 Early Learning and Development Standards. Classroom Management: Maintain a clean, safe, and engaging learning environment that supports all areas of development. Assessment & Documentation: Conduct ongoing assessments using DCY-approved tools (e.g., Teaching Strategies GOLD), and document childrens developmental progress. Family Engagement: Establish and maintain positive relationships with families, offering regular updates, conferences, and support. Staff Mentorship: Provide leadership to assistant teachers and foster a collaborative, high-functioning team culture. Compliance & Safety: Ensure full adherence to all DCY and Step Up to Quality guidelines, including health, safety, and documentation. Qualifications Education: Associates or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 3 years as a lead teacher in a licensed early childhood program, with demonstrated understanding of Step Up to Quality practices. Certifications: Must meet all DCY licensing requirements, including current CPR and First Aid certification and background checks. Skills: Expertise in curriculum planning, child development, and classroom leadership Strong communication and organizational skills Proficiency in using early childhood technology platforms such as Brightwheel or Teaching Strategies
