Job Opportunity At The Goddard School
The Goddard School in Pioneer Square, WA is seeking energetic and compassionate Lead Teachers, Assistant Teachers, and Floaters to join our founding team. Each classroom is staffed with a Lead Teacher and Assistant Teacher who work together, along with the rest of our faculty, to create a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment for children and families.
As a brand-new school, we're building something special from the ground up. Our school will be led by an experienced Director and On-site Owner who are committed to creating a positive, supportive work culture for educators. We believe that in order to provide exceptional care and learning for children, teachers must feel respected, encouraged, and empowered.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities
- Create and implement lesson plans using the Frog Street curriculum, enhanced with enrichment activities including yoga, sign language, and music & movement
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and engaging learning environment
- Support each child's physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development
- Communicate professionally with families and co-workers
- Work closely with your Assistant Teacher and Support Staff
- Uphold all Goddard Quality Assurance and Health & Safety standards
Assistant Teacher Responsibilities
- Support Lead Teacher in daily activities and curriculum delivery
- Build nurturing relationships with children
- Assist in classroom preparation and organization
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and responsive environment
- Communicate effectively with team members and families
Floater Responsibilities
- Support classrooms across age groups (InfantsPre-K)
- Provide breaks, prep help, and coverage as needed
- Adapt to different routines and teams with flexibility and professionalism
All Positions Require
- A love for teaching and supporting young children
- Ability to lift 25 pounds and be physically active throughout the day
- Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability
- Willingness to grow in the early childhood education field
Preferred Qualifications
- 12 years of early childhood classroom experience
- CDA, AA or BA in Early Childhood Education or related field (or currently enrolled)
- US Work Authorization
- Good references
Must Have or Be Willing to Obtain
- Active MERIT account (Washington's workforce registry)
- Cleared Portable Background Check
- Negative TB test
- CPR/First Aid certification
- Bloodborne Pathogens training
- WA Food Handler's card
- MMR immunization

Compensation: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
