Job Summary
The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a federal work study student in the College of Education department on the Dahlonega campus. The candidate will support the science education faculty in maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory, and classroom environment. This position is available to students who qualify for Federal Work Study and are interested in gaining hands-on experience in laboratory operations, inventory management, non-hazardous chemical handling, and general administrative tasks among others.
Responsibilities
Duties will include assembling lab kits and maintaining an up-to-date inventory, report when ordering supplies is necessary, help reorganize and optimize storage for efficiency and storage, assist in the safe disposal of low stakes/non-hazardous chemicals under supervision, and help with general administrative tasks (e.g., photocopying, putting together science materials to take home, etc.).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety guidelines.
Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
Must be enrolled at the University of North Georgia in a minimum of six (6) credit hours to qualify as a student worker.
