Position Title: Teacher
Employment Type: Part-time/Full-time (depending on enrollment and program needs)
ECE Substitutes, Inc. is looking for a teacher to support a microschool serving children in Kindergarten - 2nd Grade. The program emphasizes small-group and one-on-one instruction tailored to each childs learning style and goals. Fostering a nurturing, supportive, and creative environment that helps every child thrive.
Position Summary
The Teacher will create and implement developmentally appropriate, individualized lesson plans and activities for students Kindergarten - 2nd Grade, supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth. The Teacher works collaboratively with the Director and families to ensure a positive and enriching learning experience for every child.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver individualized and small-group lesson plans based on each childs needs and curriculum provided by families or recommended by the program.
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and respectful learning environment.
- Implement daily activities that include academic instruction, creative arts, play-based learning, and social-emotional skill building.
- Assess and monitor student progress; provide regular updates to families and Director.
- Prepare the learning environment daily, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and accessibility.
- Support childrens physical and emotional well-being, including conflict resolution and positive discipline.
- Supervise children during arrival, departure, snack/lunch, and outdoor play.
- Collaborate with the Director on program development and improvement.
- Participate in field trips and special events as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelors degree in early childhood education, elementary education, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with early elementary-aged children in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of child development principles and individualized instruction methods.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Schedule - 8am - 4pm on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and one Friday a month.
- This position operates in a home-based learning environment.
- Must be able to engage with children on the floor and outdoors.
- Requires flexibility, patience, and creativity.
Compensation
Hourly wage is competitive and based on qualifications and experience. Details will be discussed during the interview process.
