POSITION TITLE: Teacher - Secondary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum B.S. Degree: Certification in content area.
  • Meets requirements set forth by federal regulations.
  • Working knowledge of computers and software.

REPORTS TO:

  • Principal or Principal's designee

SUPERVISES:

  • Students

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Determine individual and class needs.
  • Establish objectives and plan learning experiences.
  • Implement activities using a variety of techniques that utilize instructional time to meet objectives.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
  • Exhibit positive human relations skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in written and oral communication.
  • Evaluate the educational program and/or student progress.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians, colleagues and community groups.
  • Maintain and submit records and reports.
  • Adhere to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy and state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Engage in personal and professional growth and demonstrate professional ethics and leadership.
  • Implement the planning and conduct of daily learning activities within the classroom as defined by the State Course of Study and the Board of Education.
  • Shall perform any other position related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of student records.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  • Salary and work year to be in accordance with the current applicable salary schedule.

EVALUATION:

  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy of Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
