Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to join our faculty at Riviera Preparatory School, a private 6-12 institution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching three piano classes of mixed levels, directing a jazz band, and leading our top concert band class.

Skills, Qualifications, And Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field (or equivalent experience). Proven experience teaching music at the secondary level. Strong background in piano, jazz, and concert band performance preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their musical potential. Direct and instruct a jazz band, focusing on improvisation, ensemble playing, and music performance. Lead the top concert band, preparing students for concerts and fostering musical growth. Experience teaching piano is preferred. The ideal candidate will teach three piano classes, providing instruction in various music styles, theory, and technique and be able to differentiate lessons based on skill level. Develop engaging and challenging lesson plans tailored to diverse student skill levels. Foster a positive and collaborative environment that encourages musical expression and teamwork. Participate in school events and performances as needed.
