PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teaching:
- Teach four classes/sections (7th grade U.S. History/8th grade United States in the World)
- Work with students on an individual basis, as need be, offering warm and productive support
- Keep an accurate and up-to-date online gradebook, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assume role as an advisor for a group of students (approximately 7)
- Advise a club or activity and supervise periodic study hall
- Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
- Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings
- Accompany students on occasional curricular trips
- Attend community events throughout the school year
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in history or related disciplines is required. Master's degree preferred
Experience:
Two years of teaching experience in middle school preferred
Salary Range: $72,525 - $102,723
