Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Infant Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day care and early development of infants aged 6 weeks to 12 months in accordance with MSDH licensing regulations and developmentally appropriate practices. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with young children, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, responsive care to infants including feeding, diapering, napping, and age-appropriate interactions.
  • Create and maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment that meets MSDH health and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement daily routines and age-appropriate activities that promote sensory, motor, social, and language development.
  • Observe and document each child's developmental milestones, behavior, and progress.
  • Maintain open and respectful communication with parents, families, and colleagues.
  • Follow all MSDH regulations and center policies, including ratios, sanitation, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required by MSDH and center policy.
  • Collaborate with co-teachers and support staff to ensure a consistent and enriching learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Must meet MSDH requirements for Infant Staff, including:
    • Criminal background check clearance
    • Child Abuse Central Registry clearance
    • Health form and TB screening
  • Must complete MSDH-mandated training (within 90 days of hire).
  • Experience working with infants in a licensed childcare setting preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire).
  • Knowledge of infant development and safe sleep practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a nurturing attitude.
