Responsibilities for Infant Teacher
* Provide a safe and loving environment for the infants in his/her care
* Give bottles to infants as provided by parents
* Feed infants' solid foods as age appropriate and provided by parents
* Change diapers as needed
* Soothe infants by singing to and cuddling them
* Supervise infants on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys
* Put infants in cribs for nap time
* Ensure play, sleep and changing areas are kept clean
* Follow safe sleep practice
*Qualifications for Infant Teacher*
* At least 18 years of age ยท
* High school diploma or GED
* Completed a course in the care of Infants & Toddlers.
* Possess certificate from The Registry, verifying training requirements have been met.
* CPR/AED Training
* 320 hours of experience as an assistant child care teacher in a licensed child care center or other approved EC setting.
* Abusive Head Trauma Prevention Training
* Mandated Reporter Training
* Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
* Reliable transportation to the Child Care center
* Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
One of the following:
* Two courses for credit in early childhood education or its equivalent from an institution of higher education.
* Two non-credit department-approved courses in early childhood education.
* One course for credit in early childhood education and one non-credit department-approved course in early childhood education.
* Certificate from The Registry indicating that the person is qualified as a child care teacher.
* A Wisconsin Preschool Credential.
* A Wisconsin Infant-Toddler Credential.
* Forty-eight credits from an institution of higher education with at least 3 credits in early childhood education or its equivalent.
* A one-year child care diploma in child care or early childhood education from an institution of higher education.
* An associate degree in early childhood education or child care from an institution of higher education.
* A Child Development Associate credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
* A certificate from the department of workforce development, bureau of apprenticeship standards, as a child development specialist.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
