Role Mission : IDEA Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers will instruct 7th - 10th grade students in Arts and Communication Career Development. All IDEA CTE teachers are responsible for ensuring that every IDEA student masters the academic and social skills necessary to succeed in college and career. In addition, IDEA CTE teachers set ambitious goals for student achievement and invest students and families in accomplishing them; create a powerful learning environment; plan and deliver purposeful, rigorous instruction; assess for mastery and track student progress toward goals; analyze data to intervene and adjust instruction; and seek excellence as an educator and an IDEA team member.
We are seeking an entrepreneurially minded educator interested in building a new Arts and Communication CTE program from the ground floor. We are looking for an individual with a deep passion and conviction for the arts—an educator who will show students how the worlds of art, design, performance, and media intersect historically, culturally, and aesthetically. Students will learn the basics of performance, design, audio, and video through the analysis and creation of print media, photographs, news stories, videos, and other products common to the visual, media, and performing arts industries. Other course responsibilities may include Career Explorations, Performing Arts Primer, Dance, and Choreography.
What We Offer
Compensation: The starting teacher salary for 0 years of experience is $51,500. This role is eligible for various stipends based on certifications, credentials, and campus leadership ranging from $500-$4,000 each. We also offer opportunities and incentives through our Teacher Career Pathway with the potential to earn up to $10,000 in additional compensation. Additional hourly compensation is provided for after school tutoring or Saturday school as assigned.

What You Bring — Competencies
High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work experience (5+ years in arts and communication career field).
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred.
Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred.
Provisional License for Career-Technical Workforce Development required; if not yet obtained, must be acquired within the first 30 days of service.
Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to various situations in the school environment.
What You’ll Do — Accountabilities
Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula to meet academic expectations for courses including Career Explorations, Arts & Communications Primer, Performing Arts Primer, Dance, and Choreography.
Master and deliver relevant content and grade-level curriculum.
Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
Use assessments to track student progress, adjust lessons, and update gradebooks weekly.
Communicate student progress regularly with students and families.
Utilize technology effectively for communication and instruction.
Implement behavior management strategies aligned with campus initiatives.
Foster a positive school culture and develop students’ character and community sense.
Build trust and respectful relationships with students and families.
Host tutoring sessions as needed.
Participate in weekly meetings, duties, and school functions.
Engage in ongoing professional development.
Minimum of 40+ hours at school per week; additional duties may include after-school or Saturday tutoring.
