Job description

Full time teaching position for all aspects of high school science to start September 2025. Physics background preferred.

Masters degree in science/education required. Bachelors degree with enrollment in a science/education Master's program considered. NYS teaching certification a plus.

Candidate must be able to reliably commute to Somers, NY or plan to relocate prior to commencing work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards in the sciences.
  • Manage classroom dynamics to create a positive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress provide individualized support as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to foster a collaborative educational experience.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Mentor students and provide extra help when needed to enhance their understanding of mathematical concepts
