Reports To: Principal or Assistant Principal | Coached By: Academic Deans
FLSA Status: Exempt 
Starting Salary: Starting salary is $47,659 (which is Bachelors Step 0)                                                              (Final compensation based on experience and degree).

Your Role at a Glance
As an ELL Teacher, you’ll lead high-quality, culturally responsive instruction aligned to Tennessee academic standards. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to ensure every English Learner grows academically, linguistically, and socially—while building strong relationships with families and contributing to our inclusive, student-centered school culture.


What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver instruction aligned to WIDA and TN academic standards

  • Support student ILPs and language development goals through consistent data tracking

  • Administer WIDA ACCESS and other required assessments

  • Collaborate across content areas to implement effective accommodations

  • Build strong partnerships with families and the Nashville Newcomer Academy

  • Create engaging, inquiry-driven learning experiences

  • Reflect and grow through regular coaching and professional development


What You Bring

  • Tennessee Teaching License with appropriate ELL endorsement

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or related field

  • Deep commitment to Anti-Racism, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging

  • Experience working with multilingual learners and a passion for language development

  • Collaborative spirit and belief in high expectations for all learners
