Early Childhood Education Assistants will work within the UW Oshkosh Head Start program, which is a federally funded, preschool program for low-income families. This position is expected to collaborate with full-time teachers and teacher assistants to support children's school readiness. They will also assist with center responsibilities to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
Head Start employees have the opportunity to work with 384 children and their families every school year. We have seven centers in five different cities throughout Winnebago, Calumet, Outagamie, and Shawano Counties.
Staff wellness is prioritized through available individual/group reflective practice, Practice Based Coaching, and wellness initiatives.
HIRING INCENTIVE!! Head Start has a great hiring incentive happening now! New hires, working 21 hours or more per week, will receive a $500.00 bonus after working 90 days. New hires working 20 hours or less per week will receive a $250.00 bonus after the 90-day period.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Implements individualized and developmental educational plans for children
- Assists with early childhood education related tasks
- Engages in collaborative partnership building with children, staff, and parents to identify goals, strengths, necessary services, and other support
- Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children at all times and in all environments
Compensation:
Early Childhood Education Assistant - $15.35 - $16.20 per hour
Substitute Teachers - $15.35 - $19.65 per hour
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working effectively with young children
