Key ResponsibilitiesImplement a comprehensive Spanish curriculum aligned with Core Knowledge and IB methodology
Deliver five subject-area classes daily, each grounded in clear, objective-driven instruction
Regularly assess student performance and provide timely feedback through progress reports and report cards
Participate in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instructional alignment with fellow language teachers and department leadership
Establish a positive, disciplined classroom environment consistent with the MVRCS assertive discipline model
Attend and actively participate in all required staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Support school-wide initiatives, events, and student engagement as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Assistant Director, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent/Director
Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field (required)
Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with school and curriculum objectives
Ability to collect and interpret data to inform instructional decision-making
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Experience evaluating student skills and writing performance-based reports
A collaborative, student-centered approach with a commitment to academic excellence
Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Knowledge of relevant laws, instructional procedures, and best practices in language education
This is a full-time, salaried position subject to annual performance evaluation. The Spanish Teacher reports directly to the Languages Department Chair.
