Key Responsibilities
  • Implement a comprehensive Spanish curriculum aligned with Core Knowledge and IB methodology

  • Deliver five subject-area classes daily, each grounded in clear, objective-driven instruction

  • Regularly assess student performance and provide timely feedback through progress reports and report cards

  • Participate in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instructional alignment with fellow language teachers and department leadership

  • Establish a positive, disciplined classroom environment consistent with the MVRCS assertive discipline model

  • Attend and actively participate in all required staff meetings and professional development opportunities

  • Support school-wide initiatives, events, and student engagement as needed

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Department Chair, Assistant Director, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent/Director

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish or a related field (required)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with school and curriculum objectives

  • Ability to collect and interpret data to inform instructional decision-making

  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills

  • Experience evaluating student skills and writing performance-based reports

  • A collaborative, student-centered approach with a commitment to academic excellence

  • Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues

  • Knowledge of relevant laws, instructional procedures, and best practices in language education

Additional Details

This is a full-time, salaried position subject to annual performance evaluation. The Spanish Teacher reports directly to the Languages Department Chair.
