Our Snellville, Ga Childcare Center is hiring:
- 1 EXPERIENCED Pre-K (state funded) Lead Teacher
- Possession of T4 or T5 Georgia teaching certificate (issued by https://www.gapsc.com), and Bachelor or Master in Early Childhood Education, would be preferred

- Lead Teacher Pay: up to $30/hourly (with CYE pay included)
- CYE pay (additional salary) is determined by DECAL based on applicant's years of experience in the "Lead Teacher" position of Georgia state-funded Pre-K class.
- Base Salary BONUS PAY offered will be based on availability to start, skills and experience, as well as the level of education/training/certification (e.g., T5T4non certified, etc.), and recent employment verification
- Ga Pre-K program: 10 months July - May, yearly
- This is for the school year of 2022-2023. The program repeats yearly.
- State funding is covering for: 180 full instructional days, plus 10 days of teachers' planning days (Total 190 workdays x 8 hours per day)
- Be enrolled/ Have your certificates validated in https://gapds.decal.ga.gov/ (GaPDS - Georgia Professional Development Registry System)
- The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall supervision and daily class functions of a group of 22 Pre-K students.
- Willing to take coronavirus testing and vaccination if necessary
- Background check is required
- High energy
- Great oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- Excellent classroom leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Required Training:
- Infant/child CPR and First Aid training
- Health and Safety Orientation Training
- And other training as necessary
Duties
Pre-K Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Planning and Development:
- Design and develop age-appropriate curriculum and lesson plans that align with educational standards and promote child development.
- Create engaging learning activities that stimulate cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth in young children.
- Integrate various subjects, such as language arts, math, science, and creative arts, into daily activities.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Establish and communicate clear rules, routines, and expectations for behavior to promote a positive and respectful atmosphere.
- Manage transitions smoothly and effectively to minimize disruptions.
- Instruction and Teaching:
- Deliver interactive and developmentally appropriate lessons to facilitate early childhood learning.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, including group activities, individualized instruction, and hands-on experiences.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a love for learning among young children.
- Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
- Observe and assess students' progress, behavior, and developmental milestones to inform instructional strategies and individualized support.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and growth, and share feedback with parents or guardians.
- Parent Communication and Involvement:
- Establish open and effective lines of communication with parents or guardians to discuss student progress, behavior, and classroom activities.
- Organize and facilitate parent-teacher conferences, workshops, and events to involve families in their child's education.
- Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to create a comprehensive and cohesive educational experience.
- Participate in ongoing professional development, workshops, and training to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Individualized Support:
- Recognize and address the diverse needs of each child, providing additional support or enrichment as necessary.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) or accommodations for children with special needs.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure the well-being and safety of students by following health and safety guidelines, including proper hygiene practices and supervision.
- Administer basic first aid when needed and maintain records of injuries or incidents.
- Classroom Resources and Materials:
- Organize and maintain a variety of age-appropriate educational materials, toys, and equipment to support learning and play.
- Create a print-rich environment with displays of children's work, labels, and visuals.
- Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusion:
- Foster an inclusive classroom environment that respects and values cultural diversity, promoting empathy and understanding among students.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Reflect on teaching practices and make adjustments to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and overall classroom experience.
Requirements
- Lead Teacher Required credentials:
- Possession of T4 or T5 Georgia teaching certificate (issued by https://www.gapsc.com), with qualified certification field codes
- or Bachelor or Master in ECE (Early Childhood Education)
- or non-ECE Bachelor or Master with pre-school CDA cert

- This new hire/Lead Teacher will secure a long-term contract, kicking off the new school year on July 24th 2023.
