Position Summary: Lead Teacher
The Lead Teacher is a qualified individual who meets the requirements to work in a Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Denver, and the requirements of the state of Colorado. The Lead Teacher must be at least 18 years of age and shall meet or exceed the requirements listed in the State of Colorado Rules Regulating Child Care Centers. Lead teachers are responsible for completing the training requirements listed on www.coloradoofficeofearlychildhood.com. The Lead Teacher is hired by and directly accountable to the Director. The Lead Teacher is expected to abide by the policies and procedures of the school, the Archdiocese of Denver, and the Office of Catholic Schools. The lead teacher will plan daily activities in accordance with the curriculum and align with the educational plan for individual students. The lead teacher will provide academic instruction based on classroom guidelines and procedures. The lead teacher will maintain records and data as instructed and ensure that the classroom is ready for a rating from Colorado Shines.

Essential Job Functions (Responsibilities):
Teach and act in accordance with doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church.
Know, teach, and act consistently in accordance with the mission, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Catholic school.
Collaborate with the co-teacher to utilize a multi-sensory approach to keep students motivated classroom.
Provide instructional support in the classroom. Instructional support may include.
o preparing educational materials
o assisting with classroom management
o implementing instructional strategies
o assist with educational assessment
Educate and inspire students to grow spiritually, socially, and academically.
Provides in-classroom support for all students in an inclusive classroom.
Obtain and maintain required training, certification and/or credentialing as needed.
Participate in all Archdiocese of Denver in-service and training programs and participate in all local school sponsored professional development and inclusive training programs and initiatives unless exempted or excused by the director.
Attend all required faculty and staff meetings, unless exempted or excused by the director.
Maintain a safe, orderly, and secure learning and work environment.
Participate in annual performance review based upon the implementation of the essential duties of the lead teacher.
Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students, and general school matters.
Follows established procedures to ensure the safety and welfare of students.
Follow a schedule for the purpose of providing efficient and effective student services.
Building a strong relationship and rapport with students, parents, and classroom teachers.
Requirements:
Competencies and Qualifications:
Refrain from promotion or approval of, or the living out of, any conduct or lifestyle that would reflect discredit or disgrace on, or cause scandal in relationship to, the Archdiocese of Denver, or considered to be in contradiction with Catholic doctrine or morals.
Effective listening and verbal communication skills.
Must collaborate cooperatively with school staff and administration.
Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
Knowledge of and willingness to implement safety and emergency procedures.
Education and Experience:
Requires a Level 3 Credential from the state of Colorado.
Requires appropriate training, certification and/or credentialing as necessitated by the state of Colorado.
Compliance with Safe Environment requirements and passes a background check.
Physical Requirements:
Requires lifting up to forty pounds and carrying up to forty pounds.
Ability to execute appropriate safety and emergency procedures, including leading evacuations and providing basic first aid.
Hours:
The required workdays are Mondays through Fridays.
