Job Title: Foreign Language Teacher (K-8)

Essential Functions
The Foreign Language Teacher is responsible for teaching oral and written language skills, tailoring lesson plans to individual students or classes, and setting homework and assessments. The Foreign Language Teacher completes a wide range of responsibilities including administrative tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Develop lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
- Provide conversational classes where pronunciation and important words and phrases are taught.
- Teach writing and foreign language composition classes.
- Conduct research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
- Schedule and prepare students for oral and written examinations.
- Monitor student's progress by writing reports and grading assessments.
- Organize feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
- Provide suggestions for further learning and scheduling intervention sessions with struggling students.
- Teach students about foreign culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, dress, and social conventions.
- Organize fun events where students can showcase their foreign language skills.
- Perform related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Valid PA Certification
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Spanish language, literature, or an equivalent may be required.
Additional Qualifications:
- Ability to adjust instructional strategies in order to reach year-end goals.
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in foreign language.
- A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement

- Outstanding instructional skills, including the ability to motivate and challenge students and maintain an orderly classroom.
